A stream of Transcendentalism
- In this term’s lecture I learned new way of thinking from three people, they are Emerson, Thoreau and Whitman. Emerson was a philosopher, Thoreau a writer and Whitman a poet. I think they have same kind of idea but their way of expressing it was different. Then what is the same kind of idea? I think it is transcendentalism. First, Emerson expressed this idea through his lecture. Second, Thoreau moved Emerson’s idea into action. This summary of action is his work “Walden”. Third, Whitman expressed Emerson’s idea through his poem. In this paper I want to mention this stream of Transcendentalism.

- 小児外傷における救急看護の問題点を述べよ。 ｢小児は成人の小型ではない｣とよく言われる。そのため、小児の特徴を十分に理解し救急看護をしていかなくてはならない。 小児の一般的特性として次のようなことがあげられる。 ①小児は心身の異常や不快症状を自覚し判断して自分で対応できない。つまり、日常の生活において常に小さい変化や異常に敏感でなければならないのである。また、バイタルサインや外観・食事・排泄・機嫌・活気などの一般状態の変化を、見落とし、見過ごさないようにすることが必要である。 ②小児は苦痛や障害を言葉で表現しない。発見が遅れないように、異常や障害の出現を身体的な異常や変化によって察知することが必要である。 ③小児は症状の進展が急激で重症化しやすく、かつ、重大な後遺症を残す恐れがある。異常の早期発見、早期対応が重要である。 ④一般に免疫の獲得が未完成であり、伝染性の疾患に羅患しやすい。小児は抵抗力が弱く、部分的・局所的な炎症や障害がその部分のみに限局しないで全身に影響し全身症状を示すことが多い。全体的・総合的に観察し判断することが重要である。 ⑤小児は、回復力が旺盛である。小児は、重

Is Nimbyism a myth?
- NIMBY is an acronym of Not-In-My-Back-Yard, and usually associated with an opposition against the construction of infrastructure facilities or human service facilities by residents. Developers often accuse people of opponents for their NIMBYism as selfishness and often taken up as a problematic social phenomenon. However, some argue that NIMBYism is not valid. This essay will consider the arguments by concentrating on the wind farm development and the opposition towards the construction.
