    Introduction
     There are a lot of people in the world who love rock ’n’ roll. Still, many popular rock ’n’ rollers exist. However half century has passed since rock ’n’ roll was born, its status is fixed even today. Why is it? Rock ’n’ roll, isn’t it just a kind of a genre of music? These are interesting questions. Born in America, rock ’n’ roll was the music of black people and the music of white people. Therefore, inevitably, it has a close relationship with racial problem. In addition to that, it gave a great impact to the then morality including sexuality and use of drug. Clearly, rock ’n’ roll changed America.
    Chapter 1. The Birth of the Rock ’n’ Roll.
     Rock ’n’ roll is not the invention, so it is difficult to tell when rock ’n’ roll was made and who made it. Generally, rock ’n’ roll is the fusion of the black music and the white music in America in the mid 1950s. The black music is the blues, which was born in the mid 19th century among the southern blacks. The white music is the country music, which is the fusion of the folk song of the English immigrants and the black music.
     “Alan Freed is generally credited with using the phrase to describe rhythm and blues,” Glenn C. Altschuler said in his book, “ALL SHOOK UP: How Rock ’n’ Roll Changed America.”  Alan Freed was the disc jockey of “Rock ’n’ Roll Party” in America. Rock ’n’ roll was given its name from him.
      Glenn C. Altschuler continues, “Alan Freed provided the name, and Elvis an icon, Bill Haley gave rock ’n’ roll its anthem.”
