    Japanese Hospitality
    There is a serious problem in Japanese tourism. The number of foreign tourists has drastically decreased in these days. "In comparison to the 16 million Japanese traveling overseas annually, only 5 million foreign tourists" (SVJCH, 2006). In 2002, Japanese government began the "Visit Japan Campaign" to increase in number foreign tourists to visit Japan. The final goal is to accomplish in number about 10 million foreign tourists by 2010. This campaign is conducted mainly by The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MLIT). The MLIT marked Korea, Taiwan, the United States, China and Hong Kong in order to promote in number tourists. In addition to this, England, France and German were marked in 2003. Foreign Ministry researched images and needs of Japan to each country. There are various images of Japan in each country. Advanced technology, electronic engineering, Mt.Fuji and Geisha are typical examples. MLIT realized that Japanese should revive traditional culture. It should be conducted only by Japanese government, but also by business enterprises, local community. What could nongovernmental enterprises or local community do for increasing in number foreign tourists? Broad casting company, for example, contributed to present main attraction in Japan through visual effects. IT companies made a homepage about Japanese culture and tourism in English.
