Ms. Yamada, whom I was working for, very kind person.
My father, who is forty years old, still doesn’t have a job.
I gave her presents, which she sent back to me.
I went with my sister, whose car broke down on the way.
He was, in some paralyzing way, conscious of his own defencelessness, though he had all the defence of privilege. Which is curious, but a phenomenon of our day. (D.H.Lawrence)
This tale, which is recorded by a later diarist and may possibly be an invention, has the ring of truth in its very succinctness. (M. McCarthy)[which is = although it is]
Less than an hour later one of the housemaids, who of course was quite aware that the Squire’s illness was serious, was surprised to hear a bold and decided step descending the stairs. (T. Hardy)[who = because she] (一時間もたたないうちに、家政婦の一人は、当然地主の病気が深刻である事を十分に承知していたため、階段を下りてくる大胆で迷いのない足音を聞いて驚いた。)
But the great hands of the stone-cutter, on whose sinewy and bony substance there was so little that disease or death could waste, looked as powerful and living as ever. (T. Wolfe)[on whose = because on his]
